Oppose the Scheme for Shaftesbury to get 400 More Houses!

A new scheme has surfaced for Shaftesbury to get 400 more houses  on top of those already agreed by North Dorset District Council.

The trouble is that these houses will be built just over the border in Wiltshire, over which our Town, District and County Councils have little or no control!

This is sheer over-development.

After learning about this I did a bit of digging and decided that I should oppose this for the good of the town and I decided to take action.

I am standing for UKIP in the upcoming County Council elections on May 4th, so I have a duty to tell voters how I stand on issues and how I approach these things.

I have therefore called a meeting in the Shaftesbury Town Hall at 7pm on Tuesday the 4th April 2017, to which the general public of the town and surrounding areas are invited and where I will layout my ideas for nipping this enterprise in the bud.

Please attend if you can.

Then ask your Town, District and County councillors where they stand on this.

  1. I would presume that though these homes will be in Wiltshire, they will still be using our doctors, schools, roads etc without actually paying into our council taxes?

That is the supposition Liz, although there maybe scope for some sort of negotiation.
