Now that the PCC election dust has settled, I want to take a moment to thank all those people that supported me with their time, their money and their votes (both primary and secondary).
This has been a bit of a roller-coaster ride for me but I have been backed all the way by a dedicated team of likeminded individuals. To those I owe so much – the hours on the doorstep, on street-stalls, pounding the pavements delivering nearly 150,000 leaflets across Dorset and putting up poster signs. There were also those that donated cash to my fighting fund that paid for the leaflets and other advertising.
The Bronze Medal position is a creditable performance for our first foray into PCC elections in Dorset. We gained over 21,000 votes (a tad over 17% of the votes cast), beating Labour in the process.
Once again, thanks to everyone who helped us achieve this.
